Step-Up Ring, series 7 to 55mm

High guys & gals.

I have a 135mm f/2.8 Elmarit first version that uses series 7 filters/retaining ring.

I'm looking for a step-up ring to go from S-7 to 55mm. I've look on the B&H site and really didn't find anything.

Does anyone know where to get such a ring.

If you can't find one elsewhere, you can get one made by SK Grimes. (S.K. Grimes Services for Large Format Photographers, CNC Photographer's Machinist)

 

They don't stock them, but would make one for $65 (black anodized).

I think you need a 54mm-55mm stepping ring. I had a 90mm with the series 7 retaining ring and the stepping ring was the solution. I think it was a B+W one.

Yeah Rob some people say 54mm is the same as series 7 but then others say it's 53.5mm is what the S7 thread size is.

It was 54mm on the 90mm Elmarit I had. You didn't mention wheter you are asking about a M or R lens.

 

The thread of the retaining ring is lens specific, not part of the series 7 specifications. That may be why you are getting different answeres on what the tread on a series 7 retaining ring is.
