plasticman Posted September 5, 2015 Share #1 Posted September 5, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been using Vuescan for possibly four or five years now - with a Coolscan 9000 - and I have a distinct impression that the application seems to have slowed scanning at full resolution (4000dpi) sometime over the last six months: my problem is that I can't pinpoint when I first noticed this slowdown. The problem is complicated by other changes in hardware and software: I'm really not sure whether the slowdown occurred when I bought a new MacBook Pro (without native Firewire but with more RAM than my previous laptop), or sometime when I've updated Vuescan (which can happen several times a month if I feel like keeping up with Ed Hamrick's update cycle). Because I can't really tell one way or the other, I thought I'd just ask if anyone else has the same experience?
Advertisement Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Hi plasticman, Take a look here Vuescan slowdown in later versions?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
philipus Posted September 10, 2015 Share #2 Posted September 10, 2015 Hi Mani, I've also used Vuescan for several years and followed Ed's regular and very frequent upgrade routine. I am not sure I have actually seen any slowdown though. I rarely scan at 4000dpi but I'll try it with my 9000 and the current Vuescan version and post back. brPhilip
