grievor Posted August 17, 2015 Share #1 Posted August 17, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a opportunity to purchase a silver m240 for about 3055 usd... Used of course. With 2 months warranty left and full original packaging. The catch is that there are a few small nicks on the right of the top plate. Or is it worth paying an additional 500 usd more for a used set which does not have any visible marks and a rrs L plate?
Advertisement Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Hi grievor, Take a look here Is it a good buy?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jmahto Posted August 17, 2015 Share #2 Posted August 17, 2015 I look at the other competitive prices to compare. I see that keh is selling ex++ for 5000 usd and above and private buyers in eBay are 4000 usd and above. Going by this the price quoted by you looks too good to be true. FeralCoton Posted August 19, 2015 Share #9 Posted August 19, 2015 Congrats. A friend got a 240 body on eBay the night of the Oscars for 2500. The seller regretted not having a Reserve but still sold it. It was a great deal and I've not seen another one like it.
uhoh7 Posted August 25, 2015 Share #10 Posted August 25, 2015 I think by thanksgiving we will see quite a few 240s and MMs under 4K. The MM really got reasonable when the 246 appeared
Ai_Print Posted August 25, 2015 Share #11 Posted August 25, 2015 Congrats. A friend got a 240 body on eBay the night of the Oscars for 2500. The seller regretted not having a Reserve but still sold it. It was a great deal and I've not seen another one like it. I was the winner of an auction like that ( not Leica ). The seller was willing to go through with it bit was clearly distressed to have ended up that low. So I asked him what he actually wanted and it happened to align with what I was willing to pay. Long story short, we took care of it off eBay and both parties were happy. I don't like seeing people getting screwed over, what goes around comes around.
