Capture One Pro v8 Image Preview Issues/Leica M240 DNG Type Question

Greetings

I have a Leica M240.

I've recently switched to Capture One Pro v8, due to the discontinuation of Apple Aperture.

In Capture One, I'm seeing issues with DNG image previews that keep changing. The DNGs don't seem to keep their Capture One Pro image preview once it's rendered. If I mouse over each file in the browser, the previews will be for other DNGs, often times duplicated, and will only re-render if I click on the image to select it.

Capture Once v8 is a fresh install, patched to most current level, using a very small test catalogue of only 9 Leica M240 DNG files (I have not imported my Aperture Library into Capture One Pro yet). I'm using a 15" Macbook Pro Retina with 16GB memory and 1TB SSD drive, so processing power is not an issue. The MB Pro is running Yosemite v10.10.5

I opened a support ticket with Capture One regarding the issue.

They confirmed Leica M240 is indeed a supported camera and Capture One Support wanted to inquire if the DNG file produced by the M240 was one of the following types, which they support

  • Cinema DNG
  • Linear DNG
  • DNG 1.4

I can't find this answer on the web. I've sent an inquiry to Leica Support and the Tech is checking with Germany.

While I await Leica's answer, I thought I might pose this question to the Leica M240 user population to see if anyone has had similar experience or any ideas.

This occurs with Lightroom and according to someone, who shall remain smileless, it is caused by the camera not creating unique identifiers for the files. It is aggravated by using more than one SD card. You can avoid the problem by using only one SD card and formatting it in camera, rather than deleting the pictures on the computer.

Capture 1 may of course have other issues.
