When I first read this thread I gueSSed incorrectly and explored the wrong SSource.  Yesterday I SStumbled on the correct SSource and SScored the last on my list of "holy grail" lenses.  Looks like the SSource has just today added even more Seldom Seen R glaSS.

Many thanks to the thread starter.  :)

I managed to SSnag a 280mm f/4 APO-Telyt-R, and I see that they just listed another copy.

Copies of the 28-90mm have appeared in various places lately, including one at the Big House in NYC.  I managed to get a near-mint copy dirt cheap from a FFriendly store in Bangkok earlier this year.

Where's this secret society you've been talking about? :)

Then it wouldn't be secret.

My grails were the APOs (90, 100, 180, 280) and the 28 v.2, the greatest 28 SLR lens ever devised. The Society, though glacial in speed, always came through.

Unless I get an A7IIR soon, I may part with my friends but this may be an painful separation.

However, for me The True Grail will always be the 35-70 Vario-Elmarit.

I just picked up a 280/4. I am using it on an A7r2. Looking forward to giving it a workout. I am in the market for a 180 apo 2.8--preferably one that can accept a 1.4x.....Also would like a 2x apo rom extender.

Red Dot have three, though they don't say whether or not any is the later type thst takes the 1.4 extender. They've also got a 1.4 extender. (They are also a supporter of this Forum.)

Thansk masjah for the information.  I contacted Red Dot and they were quite nice and responsive.  Unfortunately, none of the three they carry would accept the 1.4x.  My quest continues....

I managed to find one.  Feel like I bagged a unicorn as there were only 400 or so of the R 180/2.8 apo version 2 (11357) lenses produced!  It is supposed to arrive tomorrow.  Now, between that and the 280/4 I Recently picked up, my credit card bill is going to be ugly....

Now if I could just find a reasonably priced 2x apo extender rom version.....;)

I've got the laterst version. Leica alaways said the performance was otherwise the same. I've often puzzled about whether the optics were completely identical. Clearly they would have had to move the inner lens element outwards (to give the clearance for the 1.4x extender) so maybe all that was needed was an alteration in the prescription of this element to compensate. Just my speculation.
