Pls confirm or set me straight. 1.25x for HC lenses and all other 6x6 coverage glass 1,08x for HCD lenses 0.80x for S lenses Am I right, or should I go to bed and sleep back my brain? The sensor on S cameras is larger than 35 mm and smaller than most other MF digital cameras. Normal is 60 - 70. Wide is 24 - 45 and long is 100 up for this size sensor. All I really care about is IQ and as far as that goes, the S2 replaced my 4x5 camera. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yes, focal length is focal length….a 50 on an M9 is still a 50 on an M8 (different sensor sizes); but the field of view is less on the latter. Folks often refer to the equivalent focal length, which really refers to the focal length that would provide an equivalent field of view on the same size sensor (e.g., one would need a 37.5 mm focal length lens on the M9 to provide roughly the same field of view as a 50mm lens on the M8, at the same shooting distance.) http://www.dpreview.com/glossary/optical/focal-length [Note that manufacturers may use different labeling practices to denote focal length, e.g., a 50mm lens may technically be a 49.5mm or 51.2mm lens. So, yes, it's possible there's some very minor variation in 'same' focal length lenses across brands.
