Boxbrownie Posted July 27, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 27, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, Decided to finally take the plunge (albeit a small dip first) as I have now been retired over two years and and should really start to take a few piccies more often, I have been a Professional Photographer for over forty years, well until I retired! Since retiring I have taken maybe a few dozen family snaps on my very old Fuji P&S, but at the weekend I went for the D-Lux, well I have not used a "red dot" since the 70's and it was a few M3's. I was thinking about updating my DSLR system at home as my working gear was a couple of D3X Nikons (been a loyal Nikon user since 1973) but quite frankly do I really "need" a full blown DSLR system anymore? Maybe not, looked at the Fuji X10 thing, nice but that sensor....hmmm, and the Olly M5II is a cracker but just feels too small to be designed as a DSLR format, what a beautiful viewfinder though, gotta hand it to Olympus they have carried on their tradition of great viewfinders with that camera. Anywhoo........the D-Lux is a lovely little camera, feels soild and most of all has very ancient and usable control dials, just like a real camera, not a modified mobile phone! Just looking around for a decent case for it now, have the Gariz lower protector and grip which is nice, but would really like a full ERC which will take a grip on the camera, searching in vain presently. Off now............dinner time, but look forward to ploughing through the forum for info. All the best David
