likealot Posted July 7, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 7, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all. New to the world of Leica. Thinking of getting an M-E as my first camera and one fo the cheaper 35mm lenses. Worried if I will manage to master the camera (especially considering manual focus and my basic knowledge of photography). Scared but determined. Hope to continue getting support and advice in this great forum.

Manoleica Posted July 8, 2015 Share #2 Posted July 8, 2015 Hi, as I said to architect" try a used camera and a couple of the lower cost lenses. MF/DOF is quite easy to master, with the proviso that your eyesight is average. If you wear glasses, diopter screw ins can be very helpful.. If you feel like you must have AF anything from the X or XV range are great cameras. Again pre owned and purchased from a registered Leica dealer is the safest route.. Without doubt Leica will improve both your photographic abilities and love of the 'Art..L
wda Posted July 8, 2015 Share #3 Posted July 8, 2015 Welcome to the forum. Leica have occasional courses for newcomers to rangefinder camera like you. Check the Mayfair website. As you live in Cheshire, why not set aside time and make an appointment to visit Richard Clarke at Stephens Leica Store in Manchester. He would be willing to demonstrate the model and tell you about the courses they run for newcomers.
