OK, I may seem a bit over enthusiastic about this camera.

I decide to head to the end of the driveway to try the M8 and 40 1.4 cv on an overcast sunset:

Then I head back to house to call it another great SE Indiana weekend

I hear click, click, click, i.e. the sound of dog claws on pavement, coming up behind me, and turn around to see this:

I know, it looks like any ordinary dog. But he is not....At least not to me.

His owner, a chicken farmer, rather than building proper fences and coops, has opted for live security. This animal spends a considerable part of his life tethered to a miserable dog house, faithfully guarding the chickens. But, occasionally he gets off and roams a bit.

Living the life that he does, he is somewhat backwards. And very shy. For the past year I have been attempting to gain his confidence. Well, this was the evening; I managed to get him to hang out with me for about a half an hour, and was able to pet him, scratch him, teach him to shake my hand.... And, reward him with a bone from the evening meal. I think I solidified the trust. I look forward to the next visit.

What a great weekend: new M8, new lens, and a great new friend. And its all been captured.

I'll settle down now. Thanks for your indulgence.
