wolfpelt Posted July 4, 2015 Share #1 Posted July 4, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just acquired the 246 and wanted to update to the latest firmware (it came with Ver. 1.004). I found that ver. 1.008 was available. Unfortunately when i try to install the new version I keep getting the "File not found. Please insert memory card with correct firmware file" message, and the camera hangs to the point that i need to remove the battery to turn it off. This has never happened to me, and I have updated firmware files on other Leica cameras. Since the website does not specify if this is an update for the new 246 M, I was wondering if this an update for the old MM model only? The file itself is dated Sept. 2, 2014 which seems a little old since the 246 just came out. Has anyone else had this issue or installed Ver. 1.008 successfully? thanks in advance for the help/info Phil
Advertisement Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Hi wolfpelt, Take a look here MM 246 latest firmware ver. 1.008 ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
fussgangerfoto Posted July 4, 2015 Share #2 Posted July 4, 2015 1.008 is for the original Monochrom. I'm sure when there is an update for the Typ 246, it will be labeled as such.
mjh Posted July 5, 2015 Share #3 Posted July 5, 2015 The old and the new M Monochrom are totally different cameras with a different sensors, different processors etc.. A firmware for one is incompatible with the other.
