I find that Lighhroom cannot import the pictures eventhough I can copy them to the folder manually in Explorer. Anybody know the problem Cheers Can you be a bit more specific: - I assume you are on a PC since you are using Explorer? - Do you see the SD card in "My Computer" - Does LR "see" the SD Card? - Can you choose a folder to import to? - What kind of Card are you using, and what kind of card reader? - Can you describe the situation where the process stops? woodda Posted May 20, 2007 Author Share #3  Posted May 20, 2007 Thanks for the reply. Please see below  assume you are on a PC since you are using Explorer? - Yes - Do you see the SD card in "My Computer" Yes - Does LR "see" the SD Card? Yes - Can you choose a folder to import to? Yes - What kind of Card are you using, and what kind of card reader? Sandisk 2GB - Can you describe the situation where the process stops? Goes through import but simplky does not import anything. I select both copy and move and deselect ignote duplicates. I also go to disk proporites and make sure no read only is there. Further more I copy manually to desktop and then move to hard drive for media and that works  Thanks in advance

erlingmm Posted May 20, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Trying to circle in closer: - Does the status bar in the upper left corner of LR show progress while you import? - I assume no thumbnails show up in LR? - Do you have DNG and/or JPEG files on the card? (There is a setting that only imports DNGs, are you sure this is not set?) - If you copy to folder manually, have you tried import from that folder? erlingmm Posted May 20, 2007 Share #7 Â Posted May 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am not sure I can help you on this. One last question: Is the folder you import to empty after the status bar in LR says it is finished, or are the images there as files but nothing shows up in LR? erlingmm Posted May 20, 2007 Share #9 Â Posted May 20, 2007 I am sorry, I hope others can help. I run LR on XP and Mac, not Vista yet. Last check: There is a setting in preferences under File Management: When a memory card is detected: Show import dialog/Do Nothing. If this is set to Show.. and inserting the card triggers LR and shows the files, then LR should detect it correctly, otherwise it could be a Vista/Card reader driver problem, but I am not an expert on this. (LR works fine on both my PC/XT and Mac)
