Hi all,

just wondering what the current wait time is on lenses worldwide. I ordered a Noctilux a little under three months ago and have heard that others are experiencing similar waiting times around the world.

How much of a backlog is there on the more exotic lens lines? How long have others waited?

Regards,

Tim

Your dealer should enquire with the local rep or Leica direct. It will certainly vary from lens to lens.

The NOCTILUX is still produced in Canada. Should they be out of stock - which I would doubt - it could take some more time ...

Is that true? I always menat that the first 1.2 Nocti has been manufactured in Canda, and was discontinued due to the enormous costs and waste. The new Nocti has always been "Made in Germany", hasn't it?

I ordered three Voigtlaender lenses last year and had to wait a similar period of time so I think your experience might not be out of the ordinary. Few dealers or even distributors keep anything in stock anymore; the money that is tied up thereby is simply too expensive.

>> Bavaricus

AFAIK this is still the case. The 1.2 was >>made in Wetzlar<<. The later 1.0- versions came from Canada. The current one is still made there ...

Have a look at the following aPay Nr.: 140117468888;

it shows a very recent lens and it is engraved >>Made in Canada<<

Hi,

of course lenses made in canada are no drawback. I always liked what LEICAN made. I'm wondering if there are still more "special lenses" which are made in canada. Any ideas? Yes, i know that every Leica lens is something special ;-)

No, this (the NOCTILUX) is the only LEICA- lens >>Made in Canada<<

Some others in the R- line are from KYOCERA (4/ 35-70; 4/ 80-200 and perhaps others) or SCHNEIDER- Kreuznach (PC 28; 15 SE Asph.)

All the other little optical wonders like Tri- Elmar, WATE,

R- 90 APO, R- 100 APO Macro, R- SUMMICRON 180 are designed AND made in SOLMS ...

I was talking to a dealer and many are experiencing a lens crunch.

In particular the 28 is no where to be found. 35's are running low, too.

Guess those M8 buyers are sucking up all the wides.

Bad news for us, good new for Leica.

Well if Leitz is counted the same as Leica I think there were a few made in Canada. I have a Canadian "thin" Tele-Elmarit 90 for example.

Meant are current LEICA- lenses !

There were many lenses in the M- and R- lines >>Made in Canada<< in the past. It´s almost impossible to list them all. And they are all VERY good, at least as good as Wetzlar ones ... Enjoy your TE !
