Advertisement Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Hi profus, Take a look here Leica Q WiFi. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Datsuke Posted July 13, 2015 Share #22 Posted July 13, 2015 What do you mean with this? Pls. explain. Lets say i have taken 50 images today and i wanted to transfer them all to my phone, i wouldn't be able to transfer the entire batch in one go. it will allow me to select a max of 26 images at one time, therefore id have to wait for the 26 images to transfer before selecting the rest. Surelythisnameisfree Posted July 13, 2015 Share #23 Posted July 13, 2015 I really think for that many images you'd be better off doing it another way anyway. It takes a long time via wifi and you'd be draining the battery on your phone and camera.

I used to send over a hundred images at a time on my sony A7 which took less than 5 minutes.
jdevos Posted September 2, 2015 Share #25 Posted September 2, 2015 Datsuke is right. WiFi on the Q is just a gadget. Try it once and forget it. It does not transfer DNGs nor bulk jpgs. It's totally useless except maybe for the remote mode sooting the odd selfie. Moreover, it's unreliable and it crashes the Q once in a while. The only way to resurrect the camera is by removing the battery and putting it back in. He's is also right on Sony's WiFi. Sony implemented a very useful WiFi transfer from camera to PC through a network. It's fast and works (almost) every time. Panasonic is worst, then comes Fuji and now Leica (don't know about Nik/Canon). Eye-Fi cards are even worse. I'm not sure they still exist but one look at their convoluted support pages says it all. Anyway, Leica's WiFi is my only gripe. It's a wonderful machine. No doubt about that.
thighslapper Posted September 2, 2015 Share #26 Posted September 2, 2015 The perfect solution ..... which I have yet to see implemented ...... is automatic transfer of DNG's to your mobile phone ......... which happens whilst you are taking photos ..... then uploading to cloud storage/dropbox ...... and automatic syncing with your photo database on your PC/Mac at home. Never have to worry about losing cards, accidentally deleting images or re-formatting cards, never have to download from the card direct ...... If fact you could have on camera storage like on the T and get rid of cards completely........ and just continually overwrite the oldest image and carry on ad infinitum ...... Tim picture taker Posted September 3, 2015 Share #27 Posted September 3, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) What is the quality of the picture like? Is the max mega pixel capped as with the T or is it the full 24 mp?
fimbul Posted September 4, 2015 Share #28 Posted September 4, 2015 In my view, the mail point of wifi connectivity is social media sharing. For this purpose, the Q does a good job.
ajaxajax2000 Posted October 6, 2015 Share #29 Posted October 6, 2015 Hi all. Just entered this forum. And just got my Q today. No real verdict from me yet, more than that it feels good and the pictures are magnificent. To the OP, if you look in the manual on pp 224 and forward, you find this (p 226): "Selecting the connection methods There are two ways to establish a connection between your camera and your smartphone. If you have access to WLAN, the Client method may work best. When using this method, both the camera and smartphone are in the same WLAN network. If no WLAN is available, establishing a direct connection (Host) may be most practical. When using this method, the camera generates an access point where your smartphone can register." So it seems you can establish a network Q - iPhone. I've had no problem transferring pictures when I have my phone and Q connected. The pictures are instantly downloade to my mobile. But I've still to find out how to Wi-Fi transfer pictures shot earlier when not connected. And I've not yet managed to connect using QRC. The system seem a bit laborious so far... Peter Same here, I wonder if there's a way to transfer photos previously shot on Q, but there doesn't seem to be a way It would be cool to be able to view the content on the SD card and do selective download though
airfang Posted October 15, 2015 Share #31 Posted October 15, 2015 Actually, I figured it out, just use "Remote Control" mode, and you can select the images on Q to download to your phone's camera roll, or to share directly, pretty neat!
Kamera Klutter Posted October 17, 2015 Share #32 Posted October 17, 2015 I just set up my new Leica Q and am trying to link it with my iPad mini 4/iPhone 6 S Plus. I can't get past the message on the device that says "Searching camera in "name of network," even though I connected the cable to my laptop (there is no USB on the tablet or phone). In addition, because I cannot launch the app, I can't get to the QR code. I'm not that much of a techie but would like to send the occasional photo to Facebook during a trip where I won't be using my home network. Could somebody please explain is easy English what I need to do? Much appreciated...
barjohn Posted October 18, 2015 Share #33 Posted October 18, 2015 I tried using the WiFi remote control app today while traveling and hiking in Zion National Park. What I learned is that the challenge is in getting the AF to focus on you so you need to set to face detection AF or using the point and fire method. Otherwise you may not be standing in the right spot to get a focused image. Also learned that need that when handing off camera to inexperienced person so that you ensure the subjects (say you and your spouse) are in focus instead of something else where they placed the center point. Just a tip for travelers.
