Steve_4802 Posted June 3, 2015 Share #1 Posted June 3, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Aside from uv filters, are there any other easily accessible filters, in the whole world, that will fit on this lens? To shoot film properly it's very important to me that I can use (most importantly) ND filters to control DOF and also colour filters for black and white. Surely, as a company that claims to make gear for true photography enthusiasts and professionals their latest lens can be used with filters other than just a cutesy uv one to protect it? If not, then WOW, that's really really poor. Even on digital an ND will be required to shoot wide open in the sun... But let's not get bogged down on that part, I really just want to know that if I buy this lens that I can use it properly and get filters from somewhere. Steve_4802 Posted June 4, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted June 4, 2015 Fantastic! Thanks for the response. Then what have I been missing, why is everyone talking in forums about the problem with finding filters that fit? While 43mm filters are available should they all typically fit this lens? I understood there may have been an issue with the thread pitch? I also appreciate the hood often doesn't fit with a filter which is a pain (as that's likely when you might be shootin with an ND) but I could live with it if that was the only issue. younes Posted June 4, 2015 Share #4 Posted June 4, 2015 The problem many are talking about is that it is not possible to fit the original hood at the same time as a 43mm filter. If you can live without using the hood, any recent 43mm filter can be mounted on the lens.

smkoush Posted June 9, 2015 Share #8 Posted June 9, 2015 I don't use the original hood. Any of the aforementioned filters fit the lens. I also screw a 43mm generic hood (from eBay) in the rare occurrence of wanting to use a hood, other times I use a step-up ring (43 to 46) as a minimalist hood. But most of the time the lens is just with a filter.
