dspeltz Posted May 19, 2007 Share #1  Posted May 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) For anyone using a Mac, perhaps you can help me understand what is happening before I drive 150 miles to a Mac support location.  I have been running Capture One LE for about six weeks on a new MacBook Pro. I have just converted from using a PC for 30 years to a Mac. All ran well after installing the disk based application 3.75. I upgraded to 3.77 and all ran well. Two days ago when I started it I got a message stating C1 had quit unexpectedly (no code). I tried a few more times, then put the application into the trash, downloaded and reinstalled twice to no avail. Then I reinstalled the older 3.75 disk version. Same problem. I installed it on a new Mac Pro, NO problem.  Here is the explanation I get when I go to the more information location. Any ideas what is happening? I am not getting this problem with any other application.  I have a 200 gig drive with not much on it and 2gig of RAM.Command: Capture One LE Path: /Applications/Capture One LE 3.7/Capture One Guest stnami Posted May 19, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted May 19, 2007 try a mac forum, they will know http://www.macusersforum.com/
ho_co Posted May 19, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted May 19, 2007 Or contact Phase One. They should be able to make sense of the error report.
spylaw4 Posted May 19, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted May 19, 2007 Some suggestions: 1. Use Spotlight to find every bit of C1 - just trashing the prog itself is not enough - preferences need to go as well as any other lurking file. 2. You might also like to try initially using Disk Utility to verify/repair disk permissions and verify disk. 3. Get something like MacSweeper and run a general clean up and secure operation. 4. Re-install and try These might not work but they are what I would do were I in your position.
dspeltz Posted May 19, 2007 Author Share #5 Â Posted May 19, 2007 Tnx. I did try permissions and that did not work. No help on the forums yet. I will find Mac Sweeper and try that. I cannot figure out how to get support from C1 but with more time I am sure I will. Â Here I am a PC user switching to a Mac. Not sure I think this switch is what the ads on TV make it out to be. dspeltz Posted May 20, 2007 Author Share #6 Â Posted May 20, 2007 The solution was to use spotlight and deep six anything that seemed to be related to capture one. Â what appears to have crashed it was when I went to preferences and told it to erase after one day the scratch pad rather than the default. I guess I will stay away from that one.
