ThePioneer Posted May 14, 2015 Share #21 Posted May 14, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I use them both. Great cameras. I have no intention of getting rid of either one of them. No conversions. I use the M9 when I want color and I use the MM when I want black and white.
Advertisement Posted May 14, 2015 Posted May 14, 2015 Hi ThePioneer, Take a look here Owning both M9 and M Monochrom. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
vinicio Posted May 16, 2015 Share #22 Posted May 16, 2015 Have both camera and using both with no problems or doubts but happiness. More than 80% of my works are in BW with MM but the M9 is still a great camera; just learn how to use it at the best
asiafish Posted May 20, 2015 Share #23 Posted May 20, 2015 Love them both. M Monochrom 1937 Carl Zeiss Jena 5cm f/1.5 Sonnar L1003267.jpg by Lawman1967, on Flickr and Leica M-E with same lens L1000241.jpg by Lawman1967, on Flickr
tobey bilek Posted May 20, 2015 Share #24 Posted May 20, 2015 Color photography always was a pain whether home done or farmed out. Love my M9 and D800e & 750 Nikons. I also love my 4x5 as perfect medium for monochrome, but the MM or next model comes close if not superior. Now if large prints or detail capture or noise/grain free imaging is your goal, I can see owning both. As an aside, 4x5 tri x puts the best normal 35 mm monochrome film to shame. I would expect MM to be similar to 4x5.
BerndReini Posted May 21, 2015 Share #25 Posted May 21, 2015 If I want any grain, I shoot 35. TriX is for 35mm. In 4x5 try TMax400. Beautiful!
