rob_x2004 Posted May 18, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 18, 2007 Definitely red. But there is something missing, like John said, focus? and the detail is staggering in its absence. Something kookie is happening at places like this. .....

leicamann Posted May 20, 2007 Share #6 Posted May 20, 2007 Much cleaner..so I'll assume that this must be a Fuji film.....the scanner is adding too much noise in the shadows..maybe a compromise...like 4 to 8 passes? So its a noise issue..maybe time to get Flexlite scanner? Salam, Leicamann
darkness30 Posted May 20, 2007 Author Share #7 Posted May 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) John, your right on this is a Fuji Velvia 100F and yes other images from this slide has the same problem. Flexlite is pretty far option here. Photography is for cellphones and/or select few with a lot of money. I couldn't add any Leica to my set up since i came back to Turkey. You go figure. Thanks Mehmet

ThanksMehmet Mehmet I have been getting really good results from my Epson 4990 Pro flatbed scanner..here it cost me $500 US....maybe? I know the Flexlite is about $10,000..or even better the Aztec Drum scanner..dream on John....anyhow lately thats the scanner I've been using.. I think you would agree that for $500. thats very good quality scanning results I'm getting.. What scanner are you using? Salam, Leicamann
darkness30 Posted May 20, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted May 20, 2007 John, i am using Nikon LS50 or coolscan 5000 ED. Yes flatbed scanner of yours seems very good for a $500. It is a steal. Here first of all i cannot find that easily since i would be the few crazy people that might want that and it would be a fortune due to heavy duty and luxury taxes. Things that i can buy rather easy just by saving couple of moths in USA, are simply a dream that would never come true. Flextight ? a nice dream that i share with you. I am still mad that i turned down an offer for 3 hassie bodies with 4 lenses + converters etc for $2000 while in US. Well you better keep good care of your civilization. Here we are still hundreds of years behind and we are fighting not to go back but may be in this geography we are loosing the war. Mehmet
