Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted April 24, 2015 Share #21 Posted April 24, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Why spend more money on a wireless remote? Does not the Profoto B1 have a slave port? (It does). . Yes the B1 heads have slave but you still need to trigger the slave by either a trigger or by buying a Leica/Sony flash.......I can get the same with on Profoto Air Remote (as long as it works on the supposedly new Sony hot shoe) still waiting for conformation. Remember I am sat on an Oil rig in Nigeria so I just cant pop into my local Profoto dealer and try this stuff out.....which I would normally do

Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS Posted April 24, 2015 Share #22 Posted April 24, 2015 You might consider the YongNuo remotes. They are very inexpensive and work really well with the M. I bot them after they were recommended elsewhere in the Forum. Highly seconded! If the Profoto air remote wont work I will check out those YongNuo's

The only air remotes that are not compatible are the TTL remotes. You have full manual control of all the products that Profoto makes with air inside of them. Hope that helps answer your question. Reach out to me anytime if you have anything else. Thank you for choosing Profoto. Chris Fain

2wk Posted April 25, 2015 Share #26 Posted April 25, 2015 For strobes I usually start out a test with 1/60 - 1/125, f8 - f11, lowest iso. Then play with my strobe power / distance / diffusion. It is extra nice with the X Vario and it's leaf shutter syncing at 1/1000. I use the Flashwave IIItx to fire off my lighting. The transmitter is so small and fits great on a Leica. pico Posted April 27, 2015 Share #27 Posted April 27, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) You can use the slaves in your lights, triggered by the SF 24D, but not with TTL. Leica's TTL flash uses a pre-flash which will cause the slaved lights to fire before the Leica's main flash fires. It would only cause a mess. I was WRONG, WRONG, WRONG. If you use a Wein brand slave, you can use TTL because the Wein slave is smart enough to ignore the preflash.
