david_choy58 Posted May 17, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 17, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just received my IR/UV filters from Leica. Put it on my 35mm cron (no coding) and have updated firmware to 1.102. What setting should I set the lens detection to? - On - On + IR/UV - Off Thinking to get more IR/UV cut filters, are the B+W 486 fine? Do you need coding for 35mm? sean_reid Posted May 17, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 17, 2007 Yes coding is a good idea for a 35, the second setting is the correct one for use with the filter. Cheers, Sean
bradreiman Posted May 17, 2007 Share #3 Posted May 17, 2007 part right-you should set the lens detection to "OFF" as you have no codes to detect. i have not noticed any fringing with my 35mm lens and 486 filter personally...b

If the lens is uncoded, then indeed it should be set to off. Cheers, Sean
Hans Roggen Posted May 17, 2007 Share #5 Posted May 17, 2007 The 35 cron is very easy to handcode with a black marker. Try that so you can use the On + IR/UV setting. Hans
