Capture One Pro or Lightroom?

Yes but isn't the software that gets it right out of the box more often going to be the best choice? I suspect C1 is doing that...

It seems to me that the red tassels picture shows that the LR version has not been developed properly, rather than that one software is better than the other.

I'd rather see that I had over exposed and then decide what to do about it. If the developing software is going to quietly fix my mistakes (or normalise my eccentric choices) then, no, I don't think that is a good thing.

That's not really an accurate assessment of what's going on, or a workflow I would recommend.

If you are concerned about exposure, this should be assessed at the time of capture such as using the RGB histogram on the back of the camera for difficult subjects like strong reds.

C1 is not adjusting your exposure or fixing your mistakes, it just appears to be better at extracting the full dynamic range of information contained in the RAW file and giving you the best possible place to start PP, at least that's my experience so far. Your workflow should be aiming to minimise work in PP.

Once I compared LR and C1, particularly, of red color, taken by M240+50/1.4a.

Here is the results:

Left=LR : Right=C1

At this size, all that can be seen is that one is warmer than the other and that the red channel has much less detail in the Lightroom version.  i am interested in understanding whether Capture One is the better raw convertor that many say it is, but this tests does not seem to help me.
