Guest guy_mancuso Posted May 16, 2007 Share #21 Posted May 16, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) John that is good news , now go out and get some nice images with it. I am still not sold on the idea of the serial numbers having a specific manufacturing date attached to them. I think there is a big basket of hot shoes with serial numbers on them and grab one and install. LOL
Advertisement Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Hi Guest guy_mancuso, Take a look here M8 Dead After 1.102 Firmware Update. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
barjohn Posted May 16, 2007 Share #22 Posted May 16, 2007 Thanks! I intend to do just that:) My sister is way ahead of me though and her photos are getting recognized and sold. She is going to New York for some kind of a show in the next few days. You can catch her work by googling rene griffith.
chetccox Posted May 16, 2007 Share #23 Posted May 16, 2007 John I'm glad you got a replacement so quickly. After all, you need something to put the filter on! I have the HP9180 as well. I have never had a paper jam of any kind, including printing on 4 X 6 all the way up to B3+. The pictures I get from it are perfect. The only recommendation I have for it is never turn it off. It does not draw much power in its sleep state, and every day it will make some noise for a few minutes as it does some housecleaning. If you turn it off it takes more ink to start up and you will get a head clog if you haven't used it for a few days. I have had mine for more than 6 months and it has been on the entire time. I frequently go away for a month and when I return and use it the first print out is perfect with no cleaning necessary.

LOL Guy there has to be some correlation between serial # and time (not date (day/month)) of manufacturing. A unit with a serial # of 3100899 certainly is put together before one with a serial # of 3109887 or 3110659. And congrates to the OP for getting his camera working.
