Issue with Firmware on a S Lens

I have the latest firmware on my Leica. But when I updated the firmware on the lens (35 f2.5) and switch on the camera - it is ready and perfect.

But the moment I press the shutter release in order to focus, the Aperure goes blank and instead of F2.5 for instance, shows F--.

Obviously the lens is not recognized and even the firmware ends up 0.0.0.0 instead of the number it showed when I switched on.

So I am guessing there is some firmware issue on my Leica that is not able to read the lens.

Any suggestions?

I tried this lens on another S2-P and it works like a dream. I also tried another lens on my S2 and it works as expected. What can be the specific issue with my S and my 35 that is not communicating between each other?

Any fixes please? I live in India and the nearest Leica store is a different country away :)

Hi, the first thing I'd do is clean the contacts on both camera and the lens, though it's strange that different combinations seem to be working You could try to reinstall the lens firmware and see if that helps.
