emreozer Posted March 23, 2015 Share #4 Posted March 23, 2015 Hello there.. I have recently purchased that kit. I think it is a hell of a bargain (5.800 Euro), honestly I buy it for the lenses and a new M-9 sorry M-E camera comes with a price of 3.500 euro. I am pretty happy with it. The kit is coming as 3 seperate boxes as if you buy all of the items seperately. Very nice machine that M-E is by the way. After using M8 and Voigtlander lenses, those leica glasses are like prescription glasses to me. I like the grey color very much and the quality of the texture is leica class. No fingerprints and very resistant to scratches.
wda Posted March 23, 2015 Share #5 Posted March 23, 2015 Anyone purchased one? Are you happy with your purchase? I think a set with 35 and 75 would make for a more balanced kit.
wattsy Posted March 23, 2015 Share #6 Posted March 23, 2015 I think a set with 35 and 75 would make for a more balanced kit. Yes, it does seem an odd choice. Personally, I'd say that a 35 and 90 is the most natural pairing. Presumably the choice of 50 + 75 has been dictated by sales demand and stock availability, etc.
batmobile Posted March 24, 2015 Share #7 Posted March 24, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I assume the 50mm and 75mm bundle is to clear out old stock, because as said, it ain't logical Captain!
bernie.lcf Posted March 26, 2015 Share #8 Posted March 26, 2015 Yes, between the f2.5 Summarits the 35 got the best reviews. I would assume that it sold best. Most people, I think, were not too enthusiastic about the 50mm lens. The price difference between a Summarit 50 and a Summicron 50 was only around EUR 600 or so plus lens hood for the Summarit. The difference between a Summarit 35 and its Summicron countepart was north of EUR 1300 plus lens hood for the Summarit. The teles aren't super popular to start with, but between the various length I think 75 is a bit of an odd focal length for a lot of people - judging by the comments in reviews and forums. Bottom line: there are probably more 50/75 left than 35 and
sblutter Posted March 26, 2015 Share #9 Posted March 26, 2015 Get the M-E, its great. However I'd pick used highly rated Leica lenses. They barely age, even after decades
bsphotomac Posted March 29, 2015 Share #10 Posted March 29, 2015 I purchased this package and added a 35mm 2.5 and love the group.
msendin Posted March 31, 2015 Share #11 Posted March 31, 2015 I only have the 35mm Summarit and I love it. I had a 35mm Summicron asph. and besides its wider aperture I dont prefer it to the Summarit. I pair it with a Voightlander 75mm f2.5 (excelent lens). Both make a very good light-weight combination. I do like the 75mm focal lenght when carried with a 35mm. This is just a personal opinion.
asiafish Posted March 31, 2015 Share #12 Posted March 31, 2015 I have the 35/2.5 Summarit as well. Fantastic lens in every way. Small, light, sharp, contrasty, flair-resistant, what more could I want (other than speed, of course)?
