One mine. So who is budrichard? Probably an interesting person.

A miller Posted February 26, 2015 Author Share #22 Posted February 26, 2015 Now that I am back home a fully defrosted, I have had a chance to develop the film and see the results. Little did I know, the only other person on the beach with me last Thursday was an Asian photographer who, to me, looked like an amateur, although he did have a tripod. He was leaving as I was coming. Well, he had the last laugh because his shot made the front page of the New York Times the very next day: Welcome, dear visitor! Doc Henry Posted February 26, 2015 Share #24 Posted February 26, 2015 As I said in another of your thread, stunning picture in "contre-jour". All details are still visible ! Not easy to have a correct exposure but you can with film and your M-A. Best henry

Sorry for your sake. They're so good they make your experience worthwhile so you'll have to do it again at the next opportunity because your images were so good this time. budrichard Posted February 26, 2015 Share #26 Posted February 26, 2015 Kiichiro Sato is clearly AP. This just goes on the 'wire' or the Times could have asked for the picture. Depending on the equipment, the photo could have been sent to the Times right from the beach.-Dick
A miller Posted February 26, 2015 Author Share #27 Posted February 26, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Many thanks, everyone. One regret that I have is that my M-A doesn't have wifi I think I'll send a note to Leica's suggestion box on this.
Doc Henry Posted February 26, 2015 Share #28 Posted February 26, 2015 Took these in the morning last Thursday on the beach in Chicago while on a business trip. It was at least -30F with the wind and stupid me was with my loafers, thin sock and slacks and no gloves. I had minor frost bite, but the experience was worth it. Taken with my M-A, 28mm Elmarit (pre-ash) and Fuji Pro 400H There was one other guy on the beach that morning. He was going as I was coming. He looked like an amateur to me, but he had the last laugh because his shot made the front page of the New York Times the very next day (see photo below). I guess he didn't have a full day of meetings to run off to (or be carted off to). Would love to hear if any are particularly interesting to you. Best, Adam #1 #2 #3 Adam I prefer your images specially 3 in "color" really because it is better defined , instead of the image of Kichiro Sato Best Henry
A miller Posted February 26, 2015 Author Share #29 Posted February 26, 2015 Thanks, henry. In fairness, it doesn't seem as though the NTY did any justice whatsoever to that photo. I want to think that it would look totally different on my computer screen. I arrived at around 7am and he was already there. So it seems as though his shot had the additional element of a warm sunrise, which mine didn't have; hence the need for a tripod (?)
