M9reno Posted February 14, 2015 Share #24 Posted February 14, 2015 Instead of more Leica bodies, which can only satisfy up to a point, since they are after all variations on the same themes, it strikes me that you would even more enjoy exploring old Leica lenses. A 105 Mountain Elmar? A 35 Summaron /2.8? Or a Summarex? This is where you will find huge diversity - in design, handling, and rendering. I ended up buying the MP without selling the set to do so. I've come to the conclusion that having quite a few nice cameras around is something I like and I'm under no pressure to reduce the number. Put your dislike about certain M models to the side and fill the holes in your lineup until you have every model made? Get an R of some description? And start collecting them all? In the past I've had an M6ttl and M7. That's eight all told. Which one should I get next? I don't really fancy an M4, though I know they have many admirers, as I don't really like the fold-out rewind tab and new wind-on lever style, which also rules out an M6 classic. I would love an M-A but can't quite run to one at the moment. I'm thinking of an early M3 - double stroke etc. Or should I consider another Barnack? I don't need one, but I've sufficient spare cash to get another and they do all get good use. You can buy my M6. Only 70 of them are made, so a great collectable.
