Milwaukee, the largest city in Wisconsin, holds a large Germanfest festival every year to celebrate this heritage. This is an image from the festival yesterday. In many smaller communities, especially in the Northeastern portion of the state, the German language and customs mixed with those of emigrant Pommeranians, Poles and Scandinavians to make an interesting blend of cultures.
