AidanH Posted January 27, 2015 Share #1 Â Posted January 27, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) My T + 23mm Summicron arrived yesterday and I absolutely love it, what a gorgeous camera. Â Â One thing that has puzzled me three times now though is that occasionally it won't allow me to open the aperture of the lens all the way (stopping at 2.2 or 2.5). I first experienced this in Aperture Priority mode but have just had it happen whilst shooting in Manual. A quick camera restart seems to have fixed it each time. Â Has anybody else run into this issue?

joshjagdfeld Posted January 27, 2015 Share #3 Â Posted January 27, 2015 Hey there - this is dictated by your focusing distance. If you're focused very close to the minimum focusing distance for the lens, Leica has actually cheated on the maximum aperture a bit to maintain sharpness, I believe. Â If you pull away from your subject a little more and refocus, I think you'll find you can stop up all the way to f/2.
joshjagdfeld Posted January 27, 2015 Share #4 Â Posted January 27, 2015 To that end, I have also noticed occasionally that I'm unable to stop up all the way regardless of focusing distance... but haven't noticed this since Firmware 1.2.
