Hey everyone,

I have a M8 and have a Zeiss 50 1.4 ZS - srewmount and have a Fotdiox Adapter M42-L/M but its not working on my M8 :( It will not move focus in camera or do anything. Do I have the wrong adapter or is there one that will work with my lens? :(

The Fotodiox adapter allow you to mount a lens to the camera, but does not provide coupling to the rangefinder mechanism.

This is a Canon 50/1.4 FL Mount now with an RF coupling for the Leica. The Tubes are Made from an old leg of a tripod. Pipe cutter, polish down for the correct thickness. The same can be done for the M42 mount lens. It works with 50mm lenses as the Cam moves 1:1 with the focus of the lens, most SLR lenses are made to the Leica 51.6mm spec.

On the M8 the "uncoupled" adapters are good for lenses <25mm , which can good focused by hyperfocal distances.

Long long ago (10 years?) Stephen G offered coupled adapters - they were expensive and I don´t think that they are still in production.
