arnievh Posted January 13, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 13, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) I rarely use my SF 58 flash with my M9 since I find the my M9 and Summilux 35mm sufficient for most of my casual photography requirement. However, when I switched on my SF 58 for indoor shooting during the new year's, a message flashed on the LCD screen that says "POWER PACK" and I was unable to disable the message no matter what. I have never used the flash with external power source so I was wondering what the message meant or what the problem was. I already tried to use different sets of fresh AA batteries and left the camera on for 15-30 minutes just to see if the message will go away but failed. Anyone has ever experienced this problem? Please share. I already called Leica US last week but still awaiting their response. Surprisingly, Leica US told me that another user from Canada reported the same problem and said they are investigating the issue with their technical team. Help please. Thanks. Doc Henry Posted January 22, 2015 Share #4 Posted January 22, 2015 Bought the flash unit in late 2010. I have been using eneloop nimh 1.2v. Also tried to use fresh 1.5v lithium batteries but still kaput. The contacts are clean and no sign of any residue whatsoever. I read the instruction manual of SF24D and SF58 I test a flash picture with my M8 (SF24D) . It's OK On SF58 there are four 1.5 V batteries Lithium Try to send a message to the Leica customer service to know their advice ! customer.service@leica-camera.com or see the Leica center nearest of you.
