ironringer Posted January 7, 2015 Share #1 Posted January 7, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone know how to decode all the publishing code information on 1950s-1960s Leica instruction manuals? For example, an English language M3 instruction manual is marked at lower left (back cover) IX/57/DY; I assume the IX/57 is for September 1957, but what does the DY mean? Another English M3 manual is marked XII/59/DLX/SD. Maybe the letters after the year show distribution-selling regions? All suggestions will be useful, while I try to learn how many versions and dates of the M3 instruction manual were printed, starting from my earliest (so far) marked III/54/DLX.
