Leica camera packaging???

After a lot of debating on which camera I would get as an upgrade to my Digilux 2, I decided on the new V-lux 114. I bought it online and received it one day later. I opened the outer box and found bubble wrap on the top and on one side of the inner Leica box, nothing on the bottom or other three sides. In the leica box, without opening it, there was something clanking, which turned out to be the CD that was just floating around in it. When I opened the Leica box, I was surprised to find the camera just sitting in the box, only in a white plastic sleeve, which offered no protection to the camera.). I found it odd to have a camera shipped this way. My digilux came in its original box( bought it used) with styrofoam cut out that the camera fit in perfectly, offering so much protection.) When I first handled the camera I simply turned it to the side and heard something within the camera moving. So, this camera has to be returned as it is damaged. My question is this: Is this a normal Leica packing of a camera today....without any inner foam protection of the camera?

I purchased a V-Lux last month from B&H. It came well protected with bubble wrap around the Leica box. The Leica box itself was designed to separate all the items enclosed. It seems you did not get what you should have. The Leica packaging would mail well on its own without added protection. Everything within the box is separated and protected. You may wish to complain and request a replacement. You did not receive what you paid for.
