toast Posted December 10, 2014 Share #1 Â Posted December 10, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone else find this an issue? - when switching camera on in P, A, S or M mode, if the first thing I do is to press shutter halfway to check focus/exposure, then the command dials become completely locked up. Even when switching between various modes the dials remain useless. I can take pictures in P mode, but the dials are still locked in the other modes. The only way to release them is to switch the camera off and on again and then select one of the command dials as my first move. Is this just me? thighslapper Posted December 10, 2014 Share #2  Posted December 10, 2014 this has been a common issue  my camera was replaced because of it .......but...  it appears to be related to having wi-fi on .... try checking it..... and switching it off.  it is intermittent and after a while behaves itself .... I assume because the camera is initially searching for a network which it cannot locate and somehow interferes with the switch function .... then after a while gives up. clearly a bug in the firmware.  when at Leica Mayfair my camera refused to misbehave ..... presumably because it located a network quickly .... albeit one it could not log onto .... and this ended the search cycle almost immediately. on reflection most of my troubles were when I was out and about .... rarely at home, which seems to fit with this theory ... goatsby Posted December 10, 2014 Share #3 Â Posted December 10, 2014 Second that with wifi being the issue. Turn off the wifi and the problem never arises! Hopefully they will figure it out in the next firmware update.
toast Posted December 10, 2014 Author Share #4 Â Posted December 10, 2014 Brilliant, switching off wifi worked. What a weird fault. Leica had no clue about it.
