dash Posted December 6, 2014 Share #1 Posted December 6, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ooops. I purchased a Leica MR light meter and I don't have the Leica camera. Can I use it with another camera or must it be coupled with Leica only. Thank you members in advance.
Advertisement Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Hi dash, Take a look here I think I purchased incorrectly. Advise me please.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
duckrider Posted December 6, 2014 Share #2 Posted December 6, 2014 Of course it makes most sense coupled with a Leica camera, but it can be used as a compact meter on it's own: There are two ranges, set by the little selector, marked as black & red numbers belonging to the equally coloured times. Integral angle of measrue is approx like a 90mm lens field. Look at Butkus, he sholud have a manual for free.... Mention, it takes 1,35V Quicksilver cells or has to be calibrated to 1,5V by a tecnician. Thomas
Brenton C Posted December 7, 2014 Share #3 Posted December 7, 2014 No, u better get rid of it. Not because it wont be serviceable. Because it could become the thin edge of the creeping edge of a Leica Acquisition Syndrome. First, you'll note how clever the design. Then begin to dream about how great would it be to see it functioning "full on" as intended. Next, you'll start perusing photos of MR equipped film Leicas. At first you'll say "how ugly is that" but, then the look will start to grow on you like a Volvo, or even a Morgan. "Charmingly ugly" it soon becomes, in it's function-dictates-form aesthetic. Before you know it, you're in love, and there will be no stopping you then.
