jeffrypittman Posted November 22, 2014 Share #1 Posted November 22, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Against all better judgement (the little voice in my head that kept telling me this upgrade was a waste of money), I had my black M9 upgraded to a silver M9-P which I've always thought was one of the best looking of the digital Leicas. Anyway, Leica also performed the usual maintenance and fine tuning so it is like new and everything - including the rangefinder that was slightly off prior to service - is spot on. I've been shooting it a lot the last week and am again loving my M9.

wda Posted November 22, 2014 Share #2 Posted November 22, 2014 Jeff, how long it did it take being modified and returned to you? Was anything done or reported on the sensor?

Guest jvansmit Posted November 24, 2014 Share #5 Posted November 24, 2014 My M9 was sent off for the upgrade on 7th October but I was subsequently told that the sensor needs to be replaced (peeling), and the wait will be 6 months.
ldhrads Posted November 24, 2014 Share #6 Posted November 24, 2014 I did it last year. The little voice in my head said the same thing over and over again. In fact it had been at leica 6 months earlier for another reason and they offered and I had said no. I am really pleased with mine. I had gone from M8.2 with a sapphire screen to the M9 and missed the security of that. I like the look and the camera is spot on. My only complaint is that it looks so much like my MM that I have to look twice to be sure which camera I've grabbed!
