Guest Gop Posted November 15, 2014 Share #21 Posted November 15, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) How did you get it out without damage to the dot or camera? Usually when you pry something with an object like a knife or screwdriver the edges can get damaged. And what did you use to remove the paint? I think it looks unique, and great. I twisted the dot with my thumb from left to right and after a while the dot just came lose... I cleaned it with degreaser and removed the old glue on the back. I removed the paint with a soft brass bush on my "Dremel", than I polished the dot with a buffing brush and buffing paste. I placed it back on my camera by using double sided very thin adhesive tape, cropped to the correct size of the dot with a scalpel. The black letters I gently scratched with a wooden blunted toothpick... greetings, Guy

bocaburger Posted November 15, 2014 Share #22 Posted November 15, 2014 I would've soaked the dot in paint stripper and if necessary, lightly air-abraded it with glass beads. But I guess the wire brush didn't damage the Leica script, so all is good. I didn't think about double-stick tape! I've always used Pliobond (rubber cement).
