KennyLeopard Posted May 9, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted May 9, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Guys and Gals, Â I'm a professional photgrapher who uses a Nikon D2X kit for the majority of my work, and my D-Lux 3 for everything else including all personal and family shooting. I LOVE this camera. How cool is the brown leather carry case?! Â Recently I have had a job where the Nikon is locked off on a studio stand pointing straight down, 7 ft below, to the floor where the product I'm shooting is. I have to keep running up and down the ladder to change composition and this is very time consuming, as well as an assult to my fitness! Â I can drive the camera from my laptop for focus and shooting, but as with all DSLR cameras, a live preview is impossible. Â Is there anyway I can use my D-Lux 3 for this purpose? Â I've tried running it through Capture One, Camera Control Pro, and Aperture with no avail. As soon as I put the USB cord in, it reverts to being a hard drive only, no live feed... Â Any ideas? Â Many thanks in anticipation, Â Kerry

sebastian Posted May 9, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted May 9, 2007 Alas, I don't think a DL3 will do that. I've flipped though the manual a few times, and never seen any sort of remote operation capabilities. A Canon S80 will... but the pix aren't as good. Kerry  The Canon 1D III product note said "Live View available", but I don't know exactly what it means.
KennyLeopard Posted May 10, 2007 Author Share #4 Â Posted May 10, 2007 Thanks Albert and Dave, Â I was just hoping there was something that I had missed about this camera that would enable me to further prove it to my colleagues what a gem it is... Â Cheers, Â Kerry

I guess the Digilux-3 (among other four-thirds cameras) is impossible.
