barjohn Posted May 9, 2007 Share #22 Posted May 9, 2007 Woody, Twenty-four hour turn around on your email or getting your camera fixed? If by-passing Leica USA is the way to get things done and get good service let us know. On a warranty repair, I think Leica should be paying shipping & insurance in both directions. I shouldn't have to fork out $80 to send my camera on a warranty claim.
gravastar Posted May 10, 2007 Share #23 Posted May 10, 2007 I believe this is company policy. They do not want to hold lists of client's telephone numbers due the possibility of them falling into wrong hands and the associated theft from premises. Leica UK refused to take my telephone number when I recently left lenses with them for coding - they insisted on contact by snail mail. Bob. I need to qualify this. Today I received a 'phone call from Leica UK concerning the lenses I left for coding so I asked about telephone numbers. I was told it's policy not to include numbers on any documentation, but they do have a customer data base containing contact details. Bob.
