snooper Posted October 18, 2014 Share #21  Posted October 18, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Cool down Gents ! :-) Leica is manufacturing many lenses because each one has its own signature. Preferences and usages from one to another is our freedom for more creativity.  To answer the OP question, ordered in Paris in May 2014 delivered early September  This Paris dealer is really good, he could get the first MMs, the first 240s, etc.

dorsk81 Posted October 18, 2014 Share #22 Â Posted October 18, 2014 In stock at my local dealer in Brussels. Regular price. It's a boutique.
bocaburger Posted October 18, 2014 Share #23 Â Posted October 18, 2014 I'd take one in a heartbeat if someone gave it to me, but the price is too steep for my taste no matter how good it is. I have a tabbed Summicron and an e43-style Summilux, paid around $1500 total for both. They'll just have to do.
LocalHero1953 Posted October 21, 2014 Share #24 Â Posted October 21, 2014 Just picked mine up after 9 months on the waiting list:) But, after going through unboxing, I'm shocked by the packaging: the inner black box is OK, as is the next silver box layer. But the outer thin plain grey card layer was TOTALLY UNPROTECTED! Surely another layer is needed. Leica's standards are slipping;)
platypus Posted October 22, 2014 Share #25 Â Posted October 22, 2014 Yes, the lens grows on you. It is on my MM 80% of the time. Â Mine is growing on my MM.... having been on the MM 100% of the sixteen months that I've had the joy of owning the lens.
asabet Posted October 22, 2014 Share #26 Â Posted October 22, 2014 I can't imagine waiting 2 years for a lens. Must be such a great feeling to finally get it!
TVT Posted October 22, 2014 Share #27 Â Posted October 22, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I can't imagine waiting 2 years for a lens. Must be such a great feeling to finally get it! I've got mine only in 3 days after i ordered it from shop in Perth, Australia and it was surprisingly cheap, less than USD6,700 (after 10% GST refund and thanks to a good exchange rate USD/AUD). I mainly use the 50 APO for my studio work. It is a tiny lenses but it delivers a superb IQ. Love it so much

That's an amazing price....your timing was obviously spot on, though that must have been some time back as our dollar's exchange rate has not been at all advantageous to the buyer for quite a while. Sadly.
TVT Posted October 23, 2014 Share #29 Â Posted October 23, 2014 Well congratulations! That's an amazing price....your timing was obviously spot on, though that must have been some time back as our dollar's exchange rate has not been at all advantageous to the buyer for quite a while. Sadly. Thank you. I've got mine in August this year and at that time Leica already increased the APO price to USD8,250.
