kennekam Posted October 14, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 14, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have noticed that I can get sharper shots using manual focusing than use either single or continuous auto focus. One example I was using F/8 and 1/10 indoors. Using MF at 1-15m I am getting tack sharp shots. However using both single and continuous mode AF I am getting motion blur. Having image stabilization on makes no difference. Now I know that the shutter speed is low, but why would MF be sharper than AF? I am holding the camera and pressing the shutter in exactly the same way.

agreenspan Posted October 14, 2014 Share #2 Posted October 14, 2014 If your shutter speed is 1/10 indoors, then I'm assuming the light is low? If so, then manual focusing can be quicker / more accurate.
wda Posted October 14, 2014 Share #3 Posted October 14, 2014 Why f/8 when light is very low?
