jallee55 Posted October 6, 2014 Share #1 Posted October 6, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just a stab in the dark here. I was out in the field and when I put the auto winder on my M7 it jammed (see picture) with a new role of film. I was using the autowinder to initially advance the film. The shutter now does not fire nor does the manual winder lever move. As you can see the shutter fabric is wrinkled. (The batteries are good). This has happened several times with my M7. Never with the M6. In searching the net I have seen the same issue but no conclusions. Any field repairs or is it back to the service man for this? John Welcome, dear visitor! Doc Henry Posted October 6, 2014 Share #3 Posted October 6, 2014 John, sorry for this incident. I believe in giving back to the Leica customer service, to put the curtain in place. I personally do not put motor because I love all things mechanical. Electronic mechanism (2 solenoids) may be affected ? Keep us current. Batteries are new ? pico Posted October 6, 2014 Share #4 Posted October 6, 2014 Send the camera and the motor wind in. The motor might be the cause. I use the motor wind on one M7, and Abrahamsson's Rapid Winder on the other with no problem at all.

John Hi John, I, too, use the motor winder on several different M7 and have not any any problems at all. Since we are both in Singapore, If you want to test the Winder or the M7 with a different combination, let me know. Cheers,
budrichard Posted October 14, 2014 Share #6 Posted October 14, 2014 Leica made a Motor Winder in the past but the current offering is called the Motor M and is vastly different that the Winder. Which were you using? I have used two Motor M's for years with no problems, also a Leicavit, similar. As Posted, send it back to Leica. Good luck.-Dick
