DigitalHeMan Posted September 16, 2014 Share #2 Posted September 16, 2014 It was just a rumor and will remain so until something is or isn't released.....
mjh Posted September 17, 2014 Share #3 Posted September 17, 2014 No new M-E anytime soon. (I think I had said that before but everyone prefers rumours it seems.)
63strat Posted September 17, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted September 17, 2014 No new M-E anytime soon. (I think I had said that before but everyone prefers rumours it seems.) Thanks, I hadn't seen that. Do you think it's just delayed or completely off the table? Thx.
Chuck Albertson Posted September 17, 2014 Share #5 Posted September 17, 2014 Why would they want to replace it? According to that interview with Alfred Schopf, the camera is an unexpectedly hot seller (300-350/month, which is hot by Leica standards).
mjh Posted September 17, 2014 Share #6 Posted September 17, 2014 Do you think it's just delayed or completely off the table? It isn’t delayed; it is just that this isn’t the time for a new M-E. When Leica introduces the next M (maybe next year, I don’t really know) it will most likely be accompanied by an M-E (Typ 240) that is basically an M (Typ 240). Just like the current M-E (Typ 220) is basically an M9. The rumour about the supposed introduction of a new M-E at photokina has never been more than a figment of the imagination, just like the rumours about a new M Monochrom.
