Zhangalbert Posted September 11, 2014 Share #1 Posted September 11, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) So i just bought this a month ago, and use it lets say effective of a week, other than that i kept it inside dry box, and whenever i go i always put this camera inside isolated small bag inside my camera bag so its double protection. But recently i noticed a white specks inside my lcd screen, no its not within the antiscratch plastic cover and its not dead pixels either, its shown as black dots whenever i turn on the lcd. Its bothering me i just bought it from B&H New york, but now im back to my country in Indonesia. I check with my other camera which is lumix lx5 and it does also had tiny amount of dust but its fine since i use it extensively to china hongkong america, and tons of outdoor hostile environtment for the last 2 and a half years (i dropped it coupled of times too and survived gloriously), compared to my weeks old X vario, i would only think that my XV will get worse through times, i dont wanna pet my camera, but i wanna have a peace of mind too carry XV. Is this a common thing? Or am i just being fussy about it, im concerning if the dust will eventually get into other part like sensors or the lens... Well i know it will but im not expecting that soon. So anyone experiencing similar issue?

Zhangalbert Posted September 11, 2014 Author Share #4 Posted September 11, 2014 um no it does not shipped with any protective screen whatsoever, that thing u saw was some cheapo protective screen i added. just in case if some thing went wrong whether some defect and i had to sent it back, (and it did happens oh lol) i would easily remove it. dkCambridgeshire Posted September 11, 2014 Share #5 Posted September 11, 2014 I'm not convinced that the dust is inside the monitor. Was the screen cleaned properly before the screen protector was applied? The dust on the actual camera outside the screen area is indicative of a dusty camera exterior. You might consider removing the screen protector and cleaning the monitor screen to see if the dust then disappears. dunk
Zhangalbert Posted September 11, 2014 Author Share #6 Posted September 11, 2014 I can confirm you that its not laying within the protective screen, i can tilt it to a certain viewing angle that the dust is laying down there right on the LCD. But anyways Leica just replied my mails about this issue, and they say my camera need some repair. So i am assuming it is not normal at least by Leica standard. Thanks for concerning my little issue here folks
