I agree with indergaard in post #25 Buy the FLE 35 and take the best value for money 50 beside it: the Elmar 50. You only need one lux on your travel, saves weight too.

I already chose the 35 FLE about a month ago when I made this thread. Just posting now to help others.

@freitz reading this now, and looking at your Flickr profile, I see you have both. I wonder if you still visit this forum. What are your impressions today after all this time has passed? I have the Leica MP with the 50/1.4 and now I'm thinking to get the 35 too. My favourite focal length is definitely the 50 but I really like the 35 view when it's needed, especially for indoor shots with family and friends which I do a lot of.

Then again, it's always nice to not have to think about which lens to take, and have only one lens...

ZEISS ZM 35/1.4 Distagon + ZM 50/2 Planar together would cost less than either of them, and the former is commonly considered optically superior to the M 35/1.4 FLE.
