Which in retrospect was probably a wise decision, even when at the time I had wished they would build that camera. I recall reading an interview with some of the Leica product team (which, of course, I cannot find again) around the time of the MM launch, in which they said the push for the monochrome sensor came from an unspecified institutional customer.
