Frapiscide Posted August 16, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 16, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) So I got a second-hand M8 a little over a week ago. One thing I noticed was that despite the power switch being in the "Off" position, I was still able to access the playback function and hitting the "Set" button pulls up portions of the set menu but is unresponsive. Also, pressing the shutter button lights up the In Process indicating LED for a second like when the battery is dead. I like to carry my M8 everywhere I go slung up but the buttons keep getting accidentally actuated and by the time I want to take a shot, the battery's dead. Anyone else having these issues? Camera was serviced in 2010 and has Firmware 2.014. Should I send it to Leica to take a look at?

pgk Posted August 18, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 18, 2014 Should I send it to Leica to take a look at? Doesn't sound at all ok to me. I'd get Leica to look at it.
Frapiscide Posted August 18, 2014 Author Share #3 Posted August 18, 2014 So I can't seem to replicate the problem. If it happens again, I will send it to Leica and see what's wrong.
pop Posted August 18, 2014 Share #4 Posted August 18, 2014 It is somewhat likely that the issue lies with the SD card. When the camera tries to write something to the card prior to shutting itself off and the card does not work as expected, the camera might perform the way you describe.
