This morning I found an extremely large male kangaroo feeding peacefully in the backyard... which is slightly unusual.

It seemed a bit overconfident of him to come so close to the house, though all the kangaroo mobs are feeding closer to human habitation as winter progresses and green grass becomes scarcer,

also grumpy old male kangaroos such as this are solitary by nature, so it's not unusual to see them hanging out away from the main mob of females and joeys.

When I went out with the camera, he gave me no more than a casual glance and went back to munching, reasonable enough as he was certainly more than twice my size!

Paul, male kangaroos of the dimensions of this fellow can be quite dangerous if backed into a corner by either human beings or by dogs. Though they are not naturally aggressive they will turn and fight if they must.
