prav66 Posted May 4, 2007 Share #1 Posted May 4, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) This could be old news but is it just me or has the magenta issues mostly gone away with the incremental firmware updates? All the synthetic black materials that showed strong magenta with firmware 1.9 that the camera originally came with look almost completely right now without any filter. Skin tones are still a little pinkish, but I find I rarely need the filter anymore & just adjust in post if needed.

jsjxyz Posted May 4, 2007 Share #2 Posted May 4, 2007 I thought so, until on my third day of owning the M8, I went to the stage show of my daughter in her high school and it has our lightning nightmare and materials. That should be black on Flickr - Photo Sharing! jsj

This shot is WITH a Tiffen Hot Mirror filter (IR cut but not as strong as a 486) and firmware 1.102, first-generation M8 which has made the trip back to Solms for "the fix". The suit is neutral grey to the eye. This shot induced me to order a real 486 for my 75/2 Summicron ASPH from Edmund's at an extortionate price.... Got it yesterday.
