Note that the lens will not be available in a Central Shutter version nor is it APO designated if those features are significant for your application.

I am sure that using the lens wide open will prove to be a real challenge in close, due to the tiny DoF available. Again it depends on how you want to use it of course.

In my opinion the APO 120mm is more versatile while giving up very little regarding the maximum aperture, or at least that's what I told myself when I got that one instead of waiting ;)

Unfortunately for my budget, I'm very interested in having an autofocus 100mm lens for my S2. I have used the 4/100mm Pentax67 Macro on it and liked the results. Except for the inconvenience of essentially a pre-set manual aperture and relying on manual visual focus confirmed with the AF viewfinder dot.

To check the 70-80mm effective FL again, this afternoon I went out with the 2.8/90mm Pentax67, liked the view, but totally forgot to latch the Auto-Man aperture switch to stop down each shot after focusing. So all the shots are unexpectedly wide open. Yeah, and I've done this before with other P67 lenses. Oh well, I "need" more modern conveniences! :o

Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt there should be much difference in OOF wide open with the 2/100 vs the 2.5/120... right? So other than lens character and overall size/weight, mostly a difference in effective 80mm FL vs effective 96mm.

I can't find a model

Having tested this one out with my wife at the Leica Tokyo event, I can understand why you cannot find a model who will allow you to post a picture ;) I was surprised to see how extremely sharp this was at F2.0. I tested against the Hassy 2.2 and find this to be much sharper at F2 than the Hassy at F2.2.

Arif,I've ordered this lens.. But I'm curious about focus speed, did you test it on an S with the latest firmware and was it faster than the HC?

Rob, I had the latest firmware and I did find it faster than the HC, with very little focus hunt. It is a delightful lens and I ordered my copy as well.
