nicolaz Posted September 24, 2014 Author Share #21 Â Posted September 24, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) FAQ #13 answered my question. It is weird though that I've never seen any "issue" with 35mm and 50mm Summicron on M8.2 and M9.
Advertisement Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Hi nicolaz, Take a look here Summilux 50mm asph focus ring. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jeff S Posted September 24, 2014 Share #22  Posted September 24, 2014 Basic principle…you just haven't paid close attention using other M's and lenses... if that's the 'issue' you reference.  Jeff
nicolaz Posted September 24, 2014 Author Share #23 Â Posted September 24, 2014 I've been shooting mostly with 35mm asph and to be honest I've paid attention to it but I guess you are right, it wasn't that much or at least the 50mm has "worst" result .. Thank you anyway
Jeff S Posted September 24, 2014 Share #24 Â Posted September 24, 2014 It's not about a 'worst' result; rather it's about ensuring a better result. It's designed to compensate for parallax error (since you're not looking through the lens) in order to ensure more accurate framing. See explanation here. Â Put any lens (with corresponding frame lines) on any M and just watch the frame lines as you focus from nearest to farthest and you'll clearly see the shift.
