hammam Posted May 5, 2007 Share #22 Posted May 5, 2007 Still waiting in Montreal, Canada for 43 and 46. Ordered early February. So, still unable to use the M8 as per Leica recommendations (Leica coded lenses and Leica filters), despite having paid for it in full two months ago. And, yes, still p..o..d by the whole thing. Because, as things look right now, Leica filters won't be generally available in stores before, what, a year? Two years? So the question remains: when will I be able to use my M8 without having to resort to all kinds of post-processing gyrations to get rid of the cyan drift, which, according to Leica, only Leica filters are really able to tackle? hammam Posted May 5, 2007 Share #23 Posted May 5, 2007 I recieved two black 46mm filters yesterday, the day after I dropped my camera off at Solms The delivery note says origonal source is Japan, does that mean that they are not being supplied by B&W? (who I presume manufacture in Germany??) Guy Are you telling us that the 50% more expensive essential «Leica» IR-cut filters could be manufactured in Japan? Now, that would top it all. barjohn Posted May 7, 2007 Share #24 Posted May 7, 2007 I just received my two filters (39mm & 46MM) and on the filters it says Germany but on the manifest it says country of Manuf. Japan. Unfortunately, my camera is in NJ. I have a new 28/2.8 lens on its way to me. I hope I get the camera back soon.

eudemian Posted May 8, 2007 Author Share #27 Posted May 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is what I mean about bizzare allocation methods, I ordered after you and got mine last week, it isn't fair and I am sorry I have got ahead of you. Send an email and complain, sooner or later Leica will get the message. Tom
grober Posted May 8, 2007 Share #28 Posted May 8, 2007 E-mail from the team in Germany this morning (8 May) announces that my E49 filter will be sent directly to me via FEDEX this week. I requested my two free filters in December for an early M8 purchased in November. (I'll send another signal on this forum when the filtert arrives.) I live on the Left Coast of the USA. Also of note: Leica also confirmed in the e-mail that the other filter I need, an E60, will become available in week 21 of this year. My hearty thanks to the M8 Support team! Once equipped, I'll be able to employ two valuable 21mm and 75mm Leica optics that have been waiting not-so-patiently on the sidelines whilst my CV glass (of a smaller diameter) gets most of the play. -g
chris_tribble Posted May 10, 2007 Share #29 Posted May 10, 2007 E39 and E49 arrived London today (May 10)... I can now start to play with O rings and start using my CV15 more... What fun. Thank you Leica.
Guest V64 Posted May 10, 2007 Share #30 Posted May 10, 2007 Still waiting - ordered mid January 2007 - 39 and 46 Black - both currently available from UK dealers, cash/profit before satisfied customers? David H. Arrived today - dispatched on May 3rd from Germany - it took FedEx 7 days to deliver! I note the Leica 'pro-forma Invoice' quoted unit value was €50 (£33) each - one UK dealer's price for Leica IR/UV filters is £69. US $145 discounted to $99. Looks like a sellers market! Artichoke Posted May 11, 2007 Share #40 Posted May 11, 2007 Leica replied that they will send me the correct 60mm filter I ordered (starting week 21) in addition to the wrong 43mm silver filter they sent me. That's better customer relations. Alan week 21 is next week by my count I am anxiously awaiting my filter delivery and encouraged that so many have gotten theirs waiting seems part of the Leica experience (I tried to locate the normal TE & could not find one in North America for a weekend shoot in which it would have been perfect)
